About us
The school was founded by a seasoned educationist, Hajiya Hadiza Mamayaya Abdul (M.Ed Early Childhood Education).
The school began operations on the 17th of January, 1989 as a nursery and primary school known as Fahinta Annex. It changed its name to Himma in March 1989. The establishment was to meet the demand of parents for qualitative education. The school moved to its present permanent site with its new motto: Ever to Excel on the 1st of January, 1993. The junior secondary arm of the college came into being in 1996 and it became a full-fledged secondary school with the commencement of the senior secondary school in 2001.

Motunrayo Philip is a Passionate Educator and Trainer with a successful 13 years track record as Head of School. Her career was born out of philosophy to be a Transformational School Leader & Trainer in the Educational sector. She is driven by the belief that ‘Every child is unique and Resilient’ and can perform well irrespective of their background. She is also concerned about Effective Teaching and Learning in the Classroom. As Principal of Himma International College, she has positively influenced the growth and development of the School. She has taught as English Teacher for both primary and secondary section. She is also an Accredited Trainer from Centre for Management and Development (CMD), Nigeria and the Institute of Leadership and Management, (ILM) UK. She has facilitated several trainings on Effective Teaching and Learning, Educational Leadership and is consulting for many Schools across Nigeria. Motunrayo holds a Masters of Education Degree in Administration and Planning from National Open University of Nigeria.

During her first year in Himma International College, she worked with her team to select and direct the Reception pupils in the Section to stage play the popular book written by D. Olu Olagoke titled “The Incorruptible Judge” which came as a huge success , watching children of ages 4 & 5 bring the play to live.
